Music Mondays

We are pleased to announce that we will be taking part in the LIVE musical performance series 'Music Mondays' at ERA.  In June, children from Reception to Year 6 will have the opportunity to hear a live, online beatbox performance from Dean Yhnell (aka Beat Technique) and, in July, they will be treated to a live performance from Filkin's Drift, a folk band who will be performing traditional music, including sea shanties and pirate tunes!

We continue to really aim high with our music provision at school - we have regular 'Sing-Up' assemblies, our first choir, two years of free trumpet tuition (Y3 and 4), an hour of curriculum music each week for every child, our djembe drumming group, an annual performance evening (coming up this year in term 6) and a range of live performances from professionals.

We also have a weekly 'Track of the week' where children are introduced to some significant pieces of music across a range of genres and these are played in classrooms during transition moments so children can get to know and recognise them.  Tracks from the last term have included 'Spring' by Vivaldi and 'Imagine' by John Lennon.
